This was not as technical as where we turned around but did have a few challenges and tight spots. Seen from afar, the Kofas are a rugged range of sheer cliffs and dramatic spires, enclosed within the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge, which affords it protection from development. Most of the trail was manageable, but there were 3-4 spots I was glad I had rock rails....took a few hits. Once you get past the lake, the road gets more technical, and no more cars. P.S. If you have 4Hi you will be fine. The peak is a tree covered, with cairns leading a path to a register near the edge. If you follow the service road down a bit you will hit the trail again which follows the ridge line for a mile or two before hitting the CDT which makes for a less steep hike overall and it can be taylored to any length. A 27.5+ rim and wider tire combination allows you to run much lower tire pressure to give you comfort and confidence.
